Piri Reis, the Malaysian band known as the "Screamo Wizard," is a force to be reckoned with. Their debut album "Ritma," released in 2022, immediately caused a stir, with the powerful screams of their female vocalist amplifying their inner thoughts. Each track on the album serves as a reflection of the local social conditions, with helpless and angry roars echoing throughout every part. It has been hailed as the best album of the year by multiple music websites, and rightfully so!
Having performed in renowned Asian Emo strongholds like Japan and Singapore, Piri Reis has collaborated with various Screamo heavyweights such as Coma Regalia, Child Meadow, and Sto Cosi Cosi on split albums. These experiences have solidified Piri Reis as one of the most prominent Asian bands of our time.
